Relief Printmaking Fall 2008
Single color, hand burnished Linoleum block, 4"x4", on masa ~1.5 hours This was our first assignment, pretty much an exercise in using the tools. Also this was before we were introduced to the wonders of the press itself. The grey areas are where I didn't burnish enough before lifting the paper. You could call this image a revamp of an older one (found here: [link] ) and to a point it was. But of course this was also me learning how to use the tools. You could also say this is where the whole figure and moon theme originated from - and you wouldn't be wrong. You might also note that the sitting figure made a reappearance later in the semester (see here: [link] ). |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
